The mosque is the traditional Muslim place of worship. Architecturally, it often features a minaret, or onion-shaped dome, on top.

A stems from the Arabic word masjid, meaning “temple” or “place of worship.” This building is very important religiously and politically, and can be a modest structure or an architectural masterpiece, such as the Great Mosque of Córdoba in Spain. Muslims, or practitioners of Islam, come together here and pray in rows facing in the direction of the holy city of Mecca.

Prayer is one of the five pillars of Islam. In Islam, prayer, supplication, purification and most ritual actions are considered acts of worship . The most well-known, and an obligatory, act in Islam is the performance of the five daily prayers, which in Arabic is known as salah (often written salat). In the Qur’an, the Arabic word salah means to demonstrate servitude to God by means of certain actions.
A Muslim Woman. A good Muslim women is pious, loving, respectful, and modest, among other things. Most muslimahs dress fashionably yet modest, with hijabs (headscarf) and looser fitting clothing. Muslimahs were the first of the 3 Abrahamic religions (Christianity, Islam, Judaism) to gain rights. Muslim women who are pious have an in mistakeable inner beauty and often bring joy to all those whose lives they touch.
